It will only take you a
few moments perusing this page to discover that we place paramount
importance upon our buck lines.
We wether virtually all
bucklings born from first freshening does, with an occasional, very rare
exception.
We only keep bucks
intact (for sale, or to retain within our herd) after considerable pedigree
consideration and evaluation of the buckling’s conformation as well as his
dam’s udder and his paternal grand dam’s udder.
A buck will only be
left intact, bear the Avolino Farm herd name, be used within our breeding
program or be sold as a herdsire, if all of our stringent criterion are
satisfied.
We wethered every
buckling who was born on our farm for our first three years of involvement with
Nigerian Dwarf breed. As of 2010, we have kept only 1/3 of 1% of our
buck kids intact for breeding purposes.
Our bucks are not
available for breeding service or lease as part of our commitment to herd
health and the bio-security of our farm.

Sugar Creek PT Show Tunes 2*D 'E' (AGS 92.1) AR2056 1*M 'E' (LA EEEE 91.0) who
has arguably the most impressive Nigerian Dwarf mammary in the breed. Show
Tunes has produced only 4 buck offspring in her lifetime and Walkman
is one of three that are still potent. Walkman's
breeder, when asked about him said "he is the only son of show
tunes, sired by a son of silhouette!" What more can you
say?! His sire, *B Sugar Creek NT Valor *S, was indeed the produce of ARMCH
Sugar Creek SS Silhouette 6*D 'E' (AGS 92.3) 1*M 'E' (LA VEEE 90.0)
who held the distinction of the highest milk production on AGS 1-day milk test
(6.8lbs) in 2006 and then again in 2007 with 6.9lbs! She remained the record
holder for 4 years! (2006 through 2009) Additionally, she was the ANDDA Total
Performer for 2007. Walkman's littermate sister, CH
MI Sugar Creek VL Western Tunes was the 2006 ANDDA
All-American Junior Doe, has a beautiful, capacious udder, and has earned her
finished champion status in ADGA. Walkman's
first daughters have begun freshening and he is passing along very capacious

pounds) she earned her AGS Champion title and has to her credit 11 Best Doe in
Show and 9 Best Udder awards. Additionally, his sire Rosasharn P Kamikaze is the littermate twin brother to Rosasharn P Haiku 4*D 4*M (who earned the Inaugural 2010 ADGA Nigerian Dwarf

Avolino Farm TLF Pinoli and his littermate brother Avolino Farm TLF More Roar are a pair of very promising
homegrown Herdsires. These bucklings are line bred very heavily on ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L ++*S 'E' and ++B ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb +*S 'E' (1997 & 2000 AGS
National Champion Buck). Excellent,
highly prized mammary genetics and very heavy milking lines are around every
corner in their pedigrees. Every doe ancestor in their 5-generation
pedigree, save for only three, have earned their dairy stars. And, every
buck ancestor in their 5-generation pedigree, save for only three, have
earned their +S or ++S. Eight out of their twelve grandparents and
great-grandparents bear the title of ARMCH while two more bucks are DHI AR
(Dairy Herd Improvement Advanced Registry) herdsires. The icing on the cake is
the presence of the 1997, 2000, 2005, and 2007 AGS National Champion Does as

born on the first day of Spring 2011. He is a handsome broken chamoisee with
lots of white blazes. His breeding is a synthesis of two outstanding animals

Dwarf Buck to earn 2 AGS National Championship titles, and the only Buck to do

line bred on two of the greatest bucks of the breed: ARMCH Goodwood Kauri Tree
++*S 'E' and Goodwood Alamo Messenger ++S. Several of his daughters have earned championship
legs in herds across the country, and his daughter MCH Pride of Texas Sadie Elva has already earned her
Champion status in AGS and is on her way to earning her Championship title in
ADGA as well. "Army" as he is nicknamed is
a powerful, solid buck standing on excellent feet and legs. He joined our herd
in Autumn 2007, and his first kids at Avolino Farm started arriving in late May
of 2008. Beyond producing consistent, high quality offspring, he also throws
moonspots. When we acquired "Army", we knew he had been used heavily in other herd's breeding
programs, and that he was advancing in age, but we admired him and his
bloodline enough to follow through with his purchase. We felt even if he was
only able to provide us with a single crop of kids, we would be fortunate, and
his acquisition would be well worth the effort. "Army" sired some wonderful
offspring for us in 2008. He passed over the Rainbow Bridge in June 2008.

Kathleen Clapps, founder of the Goodwood herd. His grand dam, ARMCH
Goodwood Trillium *D 'E' AR1418 was the 1997 AGS National Champion
Senior Doe and the first doe in the nigerian dwarf breed to achieve the
title of ARMCH. Despite holding the distinction as our eldest herdsire-- he
turned turned 8 years old in 2011.

Avolino Farm in late 2008. His pedigree is the result of a promising outcross
breeding that blended together arguably the two most successful buck lines from
Rosasharn Farm (++B ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L ++*S 'E' and
++B ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb +*S 'E' [1997 & 2000 AGS National Champion
Senior Buck]) with two of the most successful buck lines from the Twin Creeks
herd (+B MCH Goodwood Weisbaden ++*S 'E' and
Twin Creeks Braveheart ++S 'E'). Added to the mix in his
immediate pedigree are an AGS National Champion Doe from each herd: MCH/GCH
